Library News for February 2009
The Bookworm
Are you suffering from the winter doldrums? Has cold weather, ice and snow got you down? If you want to perk up, why don’t you visit the library? You can find out about exciting new places, new faces and experience new adventures without leaving Waynesboro. Read the latest adventure by James Patterson or find out what Carrie Fisher wrote about her life.
We have many different programs going on at the library at this time. Beginning on March 13, 2009, we will start our next Family Place Workshop. This program lasts for 5 weeks, one day a week. Each session is for 75 minutes. We will learn about general parenting, child development, nutrition and many other child related topics. Your child will also get to interact with other children his/her age. For more information, please call the library. Registration is required.
During the week we have many activities for children. We have story times on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays. Once a month we have a craft activity for children. Sign up for crafts is required. Another new activity is the “American Girls Book Club.” This activity will be once a month. For more information on any of these programs, please call the library.
Some upcoming events at the library include computer classes in May. Please call the library for more information. Let us know what types of classes you would like to have. Currently some of the available subjects are: Beginning Computers, Advanced Computers, Beginning Internet Usage, Internet Safety and eBay, Database Searching (PA Power library and Card Catalog), Beginning Keyboarding (Typing), and Beginning HTML, and Intermediate HTML.
We recently completed our annual fund drive for the library. The staff and Board of Trustees would like to thank all of the patrons and citizens of Waynesboro for supporting the library. Please visit us soon at the library.
